For Marinara Sauce
  • 8 to 3 cloves garlic , peeled and minced
  • 16 medium Roma tomatoes
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste
  • 4 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
  1. Remove mozzarella sticks from packaging.
  2. In a bowl, combine bread crumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder and salt and pepper to taste.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together milk and eggs. In another bowl, place flour.
  4. Individually roll mozzarella sticks in flour, dip in egg mixture and then roll in bread mixture, patting down crumbs to fully coat. Repeat with remaining cheese.
  5. Arrange prepared mozzarella sticks in a single layer on a cookie sheet. Place, uncovered, in the freezer and freeze for about 20 to 30 minutes.
  6. In a deep, thick-bottomed pan over medium heat, heat about 2-inch deep of oil. Add mozzarella sticks in batches and cook, turning once or twice, for about 2 to 3 minutes or until golden and crisp. With a slotted spoon, remove from pan and drain on a wire rack set over a baking sheet. Serve hot with marinara sauce.
For Marinara Sauce
  1. In a blender or food processor, pulse tomatoes until crushed.
  2. In a pan over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add garlic and cook until aromatic. Add crushed tomatoes and bring to a boil. Add Italian seasoning and season with salt and pepper to taste. Lower heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 10 to 15 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
